FALL 2021-
"AROUND THE WORLD"
FRANCE
Explore.
Take a virtual trip to France and explore its culture, architecture and artists. We will delve into the history and motivation behind Henri Matisse’s famous cutouts, take a trip to Chartres Cathedral to admire the beautiful stained glass, tour the Luxembourg garden, and study the engineering of Eiffel Tower. All virtual activities will be accompanied by an art project involving a variety of techniques including but not limited to: acrylic painting, collaging and crafting.
KOREA
Explore the rich tradition and culture of South Korea through the arts! We will be looking at traditional Korean housing and clothing — “hanok” and “hanbok,” study exquisite paper fan designs, get a taste of modern Korean architecture with a tour to Seoul’s City Hall, and end the trip with a look into traditional ink painting practices with Shim Sa Jung’s artwork. All virtual activities will be accompanied by an art project involving a variety of techniques including but not limited to: water-color painting, collaging and architectural drawing.
RUSSIA
Let's explore Russia from the comfort of your home and experience its' cultural heritage and natural variety. We will be taking a close look at the vivid yet intricate architecture of the St. Basil’s Cathedral, studying the range of stars and planets at the Moscow Planetarium, exploring the music-driven theories of Wassily Kandinsky’s artwork and finally, appreciating the delicacy of the famous Russian Matryoshka dolls. All virtual activities will be accompanied by an art project involving a variety of techniques including but not limited to: paper crafting, oil pastel drawing and architectural drawing.

Each Art Pod will have a maximum of 8 students
Art pods are for students 8 years of age or older.
